And strong. And I am 48 and he comes and just [shoves me]. I was standing there. He was coming in to say hi to one of our coaches, but we said no because we were upset. Chris McCausland: Seeing into the Future review – the comic just can’t hide his emotion in this mind-blowing show
7 ore fa | Dom 23 Nov 2025 20:45

He tries to play the stoic in this look at the incredible changes to disabled peoples’ lives that tech could bring. But the radical benefits of one piece of kit leave him visibly moved If a celebrity wins Strictly Come Dancing, alongside the glitter ball trophy, they can expect the BBC to gift them a variety of vehicles for their newfound audience. Stacey Dooley rung in New Year’s Eve and presented a makeup challenge. Rose Ayling-Ellis got two documentaries and a guest spot on Doctor Who. Now, 2024 champion, comedian and self-declared geek Chris McCausland has his first major appearance: Seeing into the Future, a deep dive into the growth of AI and technology and what it means for him and others with sight loss. Much of the action takes place in Silicon Valley where McCausland, who gradually became blind by his early 20s, explores whether the land of big tech could give him “a whole new level of independence”. We meet McCausland as he uses his iPhone to pick his clothes for the day. Holding up a navy shirt, the AI app – with an alarmingly human cadence – tells him it’s clean but has a few wrinkles he might want to iron out. Before voice-controlled smart assistants, McCausland used to have to cut the labels of each piece of clothing into a shape and use touch to work out what he was looking at. It’s a primer to any luddites watching of how far tech has already come and how, for many disabled people, such innovations aren’t just a fun thing to have – they’re life-changing. Brilliant Eze hits hat-trick as Arsenal thump Spurs to extend lead in title race
9 ore fa | Dom 23 Nov 2025 18:46

It was an unguarded comment from an Arsenal official and it came shortly after Eberechi Eze’s mural outside the Emirates Stadium had been defaced with white paint – presumably by a Tottenham fan. It summed up the snark between the clubs and Arsenal’s delight at pipping their rivals to Eze’s signature from Crystal Palace at the end of August. “We sign a top-class forward for £60m. They throw paint at walls.” Eze’s mural has since been redone; it now has a caption to reinforce the storyline about the boyhood Arsenal fan coming back to his club after being released as a youngster. “All roads lead home.” So it did not need a joke from Thomas Frank on Friday to set up Eze vs Spurs. “Who’s Eze?” the Spurs manager had said; a classic of the fate-tempting genre. England 27-23 Argentina Hosts hold on to secure 11th successive victory England rounded off their first four-Test autumn Twickenham clean sweep since 2016 with their 11th successive win of a highly satisfying calendar year. Argentina made them sweat in the second half but 12 points from the boot of George Ford and a productive first home start by Max Ojomoh enabled Steve Borthwick’s side to edge an increasingly tense contest. Ojomoh, on his first home start, scored a sharp early try and also provided assists for further scores by the Exeter duo of Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Henry Slade. In the closing moments, though, it was England who were left hanging on before an injury-time lineout fumble thwarted another potentially extraordinary Pumas comeback. Continue reading...
